Only certified and insured fire safety professionals should maintain and service your fire
extinguishers. They will be able to provide the proper tools and adhere to the
manufacturer’s servicing instructions. They should also be able to supply replacement parts
if necessary as well as recommend any fire safety equipment that you do not have at
present.

This enables you to comply fully with your legal requirements to provide safe environment for your occupants, employees, public, etc.

Along with fire detection and fire alarms, the responsible person must ensure a premises is equipped with appropriate fire fighting equipment such as fire extinguishers. In order to ensure extinguishers function correctly if called upon, the responsible person must make sure equipment available to nominated persons is adequate, taking into account the size of, and the specific hazards involved in, the premises concerned.

Failure to do so could lead to prosecution by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) or even potentially avoidable damage, injury or death in the event of a fire.

A Class F fire extinguisher or system is required. Combustible cooking media fires typically involve kitchen appliances containing quantities of cooking greases or oils that present special hazard and during the extinguishing they can re-ignite or flash over, water alone is extremely dangerous. F class extinguishers create a foam covering over the fire fuel surface which eliminates the oxygen and cools the fire, essentially the foam smothers the fire.

This is a requirement of BS5839, & I.S. 3218:2013 the Fire Risk Assessment of your Premises and your legal requirements to your insurers.

A fire alarm system is number of devices working together to detect and alert people
through visual and audio appliances when smoke / fire is present. These alarms may be
activated from smoke detectors, and heat detectors.
